Izak Perlman plays blue grass on his violin. I think it would be more about learning how to play two different types of music more than the instrument. And a mandolin is a stringed instrument more like a banjo/guitar--you'd have to develop new callouses and learn how to pick strings rather than using a bow--that would be different.<br><b>References : </b><br> They are basically the same–although violins are usually of higher quality.
