Steely Dan’s stuff sound simple until you actually try to play it. For me, every time I turn around I hear something I didn’t hear before.

Nice job, Stick! I saw an interview with Rick Marotta, the drummer who played on this track. He talks about the little hi-hat lift, how he’d played it elsewhere but that the Aja engineers were the first to actually capture it. Interesting.
Peg was one of the first songs I learned when I began drum lessons in the 80s.
Totally agree you hear new stuff each time you listen to Aja’s drum tracks.

Only thing baotu those electronic kits is that I can barely hear your “ghost” note (work)on the snare.
And the hats need to be a little more open. The slightly open hat’s is the part of the kit that control’s the groove of the whole song. Which I’m sure is a limit on the electronic drum setting’s?
Other than that…good groove, solid!
It would sound better with natural resonance that only an acoustic kit can provide.
