1. Start with blues. Look it up online and solo using the blues scale. It is the easiest for solo improvising.

2. Then, start learning the ii7 - V7 - Imaj7 chord progression. You should be able to find more help online for this. You should be able to play the chords and solo over them in any key.

3. Then, get a fake book (The Real Book is a great one) and try to learn some songs.

You'll need some help figuring out how to voice chords and what scales to use for improv. You can find some of this online at places like learnjazzpiano.com. Beginner jazz improv books are also helpful. However, I would really suggest getting a jazz piano teacher. That would be the best. They can be hard to find, but it would really be worth it. Make sure you are listening to jazz a lot. If you hear some things you like, sit down and try to figure it out.

That is jazz piano in a nutshell. There is so much more that should be said (that is why I suggest finding a teacher).

Good luck!
References :
I am a jazz pianist.

! if you know where your notes are, and your basic scales, then the next step is to get a book about jazz theory.once you can play basic chord progressions, try and identify a song that has them and transcribe, or play what they are playing and he next time that chord or progression comes up you will be able to play that lick! you can embelish it or what ever, if you want to completely improvise yourself , start with playing the root 3rd 5th and 7th of each chord/triads - if you dont know what that is, you betta learn! like i said a bassic lesson in theory or a begginer jazz theory book would help a lot.
